From the Orange Vélodrome towards Cassis via the Col de la Gineste, more than 20,000 runners from all over the world take part in the Marseille-Cassis - AG2R La Mondiale. Traditionally held on the last Sunday of October, this race is a true staple of the running calendar.
Founded in 1979 by André Giraud, who fell in love with the area’s breathtaking scenery, the first edition on Sunday, October 28, 1979, welcomed just over 700 runners. Known for its popular and friendly spirit, the race has seen its numbers grow year after year. Four decades later, the field of participants has increased nearly thirtyfold.
